Do you ever find yourself immersed in a story set in the past and think, “If only I lived back then my life would be so much simpler (read: easier)!”

Last weekend, our five year old began complaining of a hurting tummy late in the day. By evening, it was obvious she was ill with what I was hoping was something food-related, and therefore sure to be isolated and over relatively quickly.

Life is nothing if not a journey, and, under the right circumstances, a grand adventure. And, yet. So many of us are living at a pace that feels frantic, our days buzzing with chaotic energy and our nights passing in a haze of not-quite-restful sleep.

I’m Jessa: wife, homeschooling mama to four (toddler to teen!), songwriter and worship leader, and owner of House of Colour East Nashville. This is my virtual home base — a space to muse and share all the things — always with a curious mind and with an aim to glorify Christ.
